venturing out on our own

Hello again,

this morning was another early morning for us all. We met downstairs in the lobby at 8:45 to Head off for our  second visit to the Supreme Court. we once again had to take "the elevator" (the one where they cram tons of people in, to get to the tube. once we got to the court house I was surprised with how welcoming everyone was. we were allowed to take pictures of all of the court rooms and even sit in on a case that was taking place while we were there. after leaving the day was ours. we thought about going to westminster Abby since it was right across the street from the Supreme Court but we figured we will squeeze it in another day because there are so many other things we had in mind. We were also pretty lucky because we got to see "Big Ben" or better yet the clock tower that holds Big Ben (the bell) on our walk to and from the court house. once we got back to the hotel to change out of business clothes and into something more comfy Laura, Chelsea and I headed off on our own to try and figure this place out. we took the tube to Leicester Square and from there walked about a mile to China town. it was a really nice change in scenery from the area around our hotel, it definitely felt more like we were in a city and we were pleased when there was a burger king, McDonalds  and KFC, its safe to say we all gave in and scarfed down some good ol' american style food :) AND on a different note, I got to witness my first FLASH MOB!!! well It was kind of a flash mob, they started dancing right out side of burger king and only two guys got to dance before the police came and made them stop. I was rather disappointed  I did get a video of it but the internet here is too slow so I will upload a lot more things when I get home. while standing watching the dancing Laura had a guy try and pickpocket her. luckily she noticed what was going on before he got her backpack unzipped. also china town was kind of disappointing, in my mind I thought it would be a lot bigger and different from the rest of the city but it was just a couple of blocks with a whole lot of Chinese restaurants. on our walk around Leicester Square we came across m&m world!!! it was awesome, safe to say we were kids in a candy store :) after that adventure we decided to head back toward our hotel and go the British museum before it closed. let me just say when we got to the "elevator" on the way back we thought we would be troopers and take the 15 flights of stairs up instead.. it was a bad idea ha ha. as for the British museum though, let me just say it is HUGE. I don't think we even covered half of that place. after walking around there and getting lost a couple times we decided our feet hurt and we were ready to go back to the hotel and bust out our blogs before dinner. I think we are going to try China City tonight which is attached to our hotel, ill let you know if its any good! anyway here are some pictures from today. ttyl :)
